SEDATION DENTISTRY
10th Street Dental provides sedation dentistry options for patients who experience fear or anxiety related to dental care. The option of receiving oral conscious sedation helps you relax and feel at ease during your procedure. If you choose to be sedated during your visit, please make sure you have someone to drive you to and from your visit.
For dental emergencies we offer same day and walk-in appointments. When you experience a dental emergency and the pain that can accompany it, we are here for you to find relief. We strive to restore your peace of mind by letting you know that everything will be okay.
As with all our services, we keep you informed of treatment choices, and with a dental emergency we do our best to get you out of pain as quickly as possible.
We utilize two different sedation approaches to ensure your comfort:
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide is a gas that you breathe in through a nosepiece during treatment. Nitrous provides an almost instant euphoric feeling and the effects wear off within in a few minutes after the gas is removed.
Oral Sedation
This form of sedation is delivered in a pill. Once the pill has been ingested, you will remain awake but feel relaxed and at ease. Oral sedation is typically less expensive than other methods. Feeling drowsy is a normal side effect of this approach.
